Events occur throughout the year, and are opportunities for travel, education, and fellowship. Some events are Sponsored on the National Level, as in the commemoration at NPS Battle Parks, such as Cowpens and Valley Forge. State Events are held for local battles, commemoration ceremonies, and events recognized by the State Color Guard. Placement of state marker in Banks County, GA
On Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 11 a.m. the GSSAR Color Guard will recognize the placement of a state marker stating the path the Revolutionary War took through Banks County, GA.

Directions to location of the event:
From I-85 at Commerce, take U. S. Hwy 441 four lane North to Highway 51. At the traffic light turn right going East approximately 2 miles.
Turn left on Damascus Road across from Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church.
Go 7 miles to a 4 way stop. Go straight approximately 500 ft. Event is on the left.
From Gainesville, go Hwy 365 to Level Grove Road exit at Cornelia. Turn right. At first red light, turn right on Highway 441 South 4 lane.
Drive 8 miles to GA Highway 198 East. Turn left.
On Hwy. 198 East, drive 3 miles to Damascus Road.
Turn left on Damascus Road.
Event is approximately 500 feet on the left.
