Why Education Is Central to Our Mission

The SAR’s patriotic education mission is to reaffirm and instill faith in the principles of liberty and our constitutional republic — honoring the patriots who gave us our freedom while inspiring young Americans to carry that legacy forward.

Through a range of competitive programs — from poster contests for elementary students to oration contests for high schoolers — we challenge students to engage with American history in a meaningful way, and we reward them for it.

Teachers, coaches, and parents are encouraged to nominate eligible students for our recognition programs. Contact us to learn how to bring a program to your school.
